This Spring, the hair world is taking its lead from the world of beauty. Two key make-up trends that are hitting the hair industry hard are contouring and nude neutrals.
Enhancing
You’d have to have been sleeping under a rock somewhere to miss out on the contouring trend. The (most likely) person we have to thank for the trend is Mario Dedivanovic, @makeupbymario – also known as Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist. Kim and her sisters have been diehard contouring fans for a couple of years now, and the trend is all about enhancing the natural bone structure, sometimes to startling effect. When it comes to your clients’ hair, the formula is pretty much the same; it’s about enhancing the shape of their face, through the use of clever colour placement. Lighter colours are placed around the face to pick out features, and darker tones are used to create depth.
“Hair contouring is big business. Like make-up, contouring can enhance or accentuate the shape of the face or slim down and narrow, using a combination of freehand colour placement and foiled highlights,” says Lesley Jennison, Global Colour Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional.
Nude Tones
Never before has the desire for nude tones been bigger; whether it’s a glossy mannequin nail or an uber matte and velvety nude lip, the neutral trend is the perfect complement for anything from monochrome tones to a vivid neon palette. Colour giant Schwarzkopf Professional is leading the way when it comes to taking the trend into the world of hair, and has launched a pretty array of powdery nude tones. These six shades represent a new generation of multi-natural beiges and cover levels 4 to 12, meaning there’s a nude tone for 90 percent of your clients. The new earthy tones range from a pretty, superlight blonde to an intense brunette, all enriched with a rosy undertone – perfect for playing with the contouring trend!
Rainbow hair is so 2015; the latest incarnation of this trend is slightly more sophisticated, drawing on the reflective qualities of precious gemstones.

access to this. Where card details are given for payment processing over the phone, we do not record or store these details.
We also use CCTV in our stores for the security of our employees and customers.
How will we process data?
Personal data collected is used in the processing and delivering of orders.
Names, email addresses, mobile numbers, postal addresses and business type
may also be used to send you marketing communications (if you have opted in
to receive them). You can opt out of these at any time by visiting ‘my
preferences’ in your online account.
Browsing behaviour data is collected and analysed to see how well our
website is performing on a variety of electronic devices and internet
browsers.
We also use this data for remarketing in conjunction with Google, which
allows us to display adverts to you on third party websites after you have
visited our website. To opt out of this please visit Google’s ad settings.
Who will process data?
Personal data is stored on secure servers, separate to the website server.
We may share this information with third party service providers employed
by us to perform functions on our behalf, such as courier companies
delivering orders, mailing companies sending postal mail, email service
providers sending emails and texts (SMS) and payment service providers

Why are we processing data?
We require this information to provide you with a service (processing
orders), it also helps us to ensure that content on our sites is presented
in the best way for you and the electronic device used to access the
content. To send you information regarding our products or services (if
requested by you), protect you and us against fraud and to notify you about

When will data be processed?
This data will be processed when your order is picked, packed and
dispatched by our distribution centre, or if you enter a competition or
free prize draw. It will also be used every time we send a marketing
communication, if you have opted in and the communication is deemed by us
to be relevant to you.
Any user specific browsing data will be retained for 26 months after you
last visited our site, after which time it will be deleted.
Unsubscribing from marketing communications
