Deborah Maguire and Katie Hemming are co-founders of Love Hair Broadway, a salon known for its warm expertise and real results, as well as Seed And Soul, a trichology-led supplement designed to support hair from the inside out.

Location:

The Cotswolds, UK

Years In The Industry:

Between us, we’ve spent over 40 years in the industry, and we’ve shared the journey since day one.

Socials:

@seedandsoul.co_

@lovehairbroadway

Words of Wisdom:

At heart, we’re problem solvers who love nature, beauty and helping people feel like the very best version of themselves. Whether it’s postnatal shedding, perimenopausal thinning or simply restoring confidence strand by strand, our mission is to take hair wellness mainstream. Finding your why is key to your success.

Monday

We’re heading to London today for an industry awards event and Katie has been nominated for extensions work. On the way we brainstorm; it’s good to be out of the salon as it allows us to zoom out and think about. With Creative Head’s Most Wanted awards coming up soon we’re in full celebration and planning mode. The hair industry is fast-paced and ever-evolving and these moments of recognition mean a lot.

Tuesday

Today’s the perfect blend of strategy and serenity as we’re working from Soho Farmhouse, it’s our version of a boardroom with fresh air and it’s where we like to host meetings with potential distributors and buyers and get deep into Seed & Soul strategy. We always squeeze in some laptop time by the fire – and if we’re lucky – a walk past the horses or a dip in the outdoor pool. This element of calm that lets ideas land.

Wednesday

Today’s a real mix; we’re in the salon in the morning supporting the team, then creating content in our studio before hosting a live webinar from our new premises in Broadway. The space was created so we could have a private, professional environment for trichology appointments and education. The hybrid nature of our work means no two days look the same, and that keeps things exciting.

Thursday

We carve out Thursdays to be fully present in the salon. From 9am until 9pm, we’re there – it’s a long day but we love it. We run short training sessions, check in on development goals, and make sure the energy and standards are where they need to be. The salon’s heartbeat is its people.

Friday

We both start the day with movement and for us, Pilates is non-negotiable! Then it’s content planning, writing and refining our education materials for Seed And Soul. Katie’s the queen of ideas and execution when it comes to marketing – she somehow juggles it all while managing family life.

In the afternoon Deb catches up with the salon team again – Fridays are such  a buzz.

Saturday

Deb is often with clients, answering Seed And Soul queries, or checking in on stockists. Hair loss support doesn’t stop on a Friday; there’s a lot of emotion behind the emails we receive and we always remember there’s a real person behind each message.

Sunday

Everyone says you should switch off, but if we’re honest, Sunday is often a gentle wind-down where we pick up loose ends or lay the groundwork for a smoother Monday. Deb’s always defaulting to work unless she gets a better offer!

Kate’s juggling a busy household – but somehow by Sunday evening our phones are pinging with plans for the week ahead.
