London calling!

London fashion hairThe international fashion weeks are coming to a close with Paris this week, so we thought we’d take a look at what London had to offer, by way of some the amazing work that the L’Oréal Professionnel team created.

With 28 shows under their belt, the L’Oréal Professionnel team of session stylists defined the SS17 key trend as being about ‘neutral styles’, creating an array of light and breezy styles that were also complemented with slicked back ponytails and side partings.

At Teatum Jones, the look was a blend of masculinity and beauty. It was all about creating a low ponytail with a super slick, high shine finish, but there was also a hidden detail; a one-inch fishtail braid at the base of the ponytail.

At Daks, the inspiration was a girl doing her own hair at home, and we all know the topknot is the current go-to worldwide! Natural texture was called for, so the team used Tecni.ART Volume Architect for a tousled touch.

Texture was in demand for the Topshop Unique show. The brilliant session stylist, Duffy, named this look ‘new wave glamour’ in a nod to ‘80s spiral curls. Using Tecni.ART Full Volume Extra Mousse, Duffy blasted the hair dry, lifting the hairline section as he went. A small curling iron was used to create the retro spirals and Tecni.ART Pli was used to separate the curls.

For Peter Pilotto’s show, Anthony Turner created ‘light, gorgeous, healthy hair.’ Using Tecni.ART Pli the hair was blow dried with a strong centre parting, tucking the hair behind the ears. Baby hairs were left to drift freely, to keep the look fresh. Taking a one-inch section from each side, the lengths were fed underneath at the back, and tied for a neat look. For the finishing touch, Mythic Oil was used.
