Top 4
This week we’re focusing on the top 4 men’s styles for the latter half of 2016.The Textured Quiff
Up until now, the typical guy’s quiff has been one that’s impeccably styled and often full of hairspray. The 2016 quiff is far less stiff, and has a more beachy, undone feel to it. As such, it’s all about the products, which need to add texture and also hold, but instead of using hairspray there are some great flexible gels out there that give hold but will allow the quiff to move. Salt sprays are a great option too.

Long
Over the past couple of years men’s hair has been stepping things up, and long hair and man buns are still winning when it comes to street style. The only issue with this style is that your clients with shorter hair will have to exercise patience! Growing shoulder length hair can take anything from six months to a year, depending on each client’s rate of growth. During that time they’ll need regular trims and might even want to invest in a few hats until they reach the dreaded just-past-the jawline length.

The Side Part
This is one of those styles that’s perfect for the gent who admires the styles of days gone by, but likes to put his own spin on things. Think Don Draper in Mad Men and you’re on the right track. The best part about the side parting is that it’s a great low maintenance style that can take your male clients from day to night. During the day it looks slick with a touch of gel or pomade, and for evenings a touch of texture can be added via a volumising powder or matte wax.

The Textured Crop
This is a great look for the man who doesn’t want to spend forever doing his hair. The textured crop is distinctly unfussy and it’s a good look for those with short to mid-length hair, although they’ll need some length to play with on top. Just how short you go on the back and sides all depends on the client’s face shape, and what they want to highlight about their face. The perfect product for this look is a texturising cream, as it will give texture without weighing down the hair.
