Role Profile
Join us as an Assistant Buyer where you’ll be supporting the Commercial Team in the planning and management of product ranges and stock availability to maximise sales and profitability. The job holder will have 1 direct report and will assist with the coaching and supervision of a small team of Buying Administrators.
Reporting to the Category Manager, the job holder will be responsible for assisting and coordinating promotional activity, purchasing, maintaining accurate pricing and product data, and acting as a key point of contact for stores to ensure clear communication and effective support.
Key Duties:
- Manage replenishment orders to maintain product availability.
- Work directly with Category Manager on stock required for product launches and promotional activity
- Forecast stock for new product introductions in line with Category requirements.
- Review low stock and out-of-stock requests, taking corrective action.
- Implement price changes as required across systems.
- Manage stock for promotions and VAT-free events, directing the Buying Admin team as appropriate.
- Support the Category Manager in supplier negotiations by preparing data, reviewing costings and agreed terms.
- Attend supplier meetings with Category Manager as required.
- Work in collaboration with the Marketing, Ecommerce, Finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to the category.
- Provide support in the processing of furniture orders and coordinating stock transfers in the absence of the Furniture & Equipment Administrator.
- Liaise with Warehouse, suppliers, stores and other key stakeholders within the business.

To Be Successful in the Role You Will Have:
- Previous supply chain/allocation/merchandising experience
- Good attention to detail, high level of accuracy, ability to multitask
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical & numeracy skills
- A flexible and adaptable “can-do” attitude
- Previous experience supervising a small team (a bonus but not essential)
- Knowledge of the hair / beauty industry (a bonus but not essential)
